Extension Privacy Notice

This notice describes how the ImgZero Quick Image Toolkit Chrome Extension handles data. It is provided specifically for Chrome Web Store compliance and supplements the main ImgZero Privacy Policy.

Effective date: August 2, 2026 · Last updated: August 2, 2026

1. What the Extension Does

ImgZero Quick Image Toolkit lets you inspect, convert, compress, remove selected image metadata, and batch-process images after you explicitly choose a local file, clipboard image, web image, or active-page scan.

2. Data Handled

Depending on the feature you use, the extension handles the selected image bytes, image format and dimensions, image metadata indicators, the image URL and limited page-image information needed for the active-page scanner, filenames, and temporary task identifiers. The extension also stores local preferences such as the selected theme.

3. Local Processing & Network Behavior

Image decoding, inspection, conversion, compression, and output generation run in the browser. ImgZero does not upload image bytes, raw pixels, filenames, EXIF data, or page content to ImgZero servers. When you select an image from a webpage, Chrome may request the image from its original host so the extension can read it; that request is made to the source host and is not an upload to ImgZero.

4. Sharing & Advertising

The extension does not sell or share image data, page content, or metadata with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or human reviewers. It does not use the data for personalized advertising, credit decisions, lending decisions, or unrelated profiling.

5. Local Storage & Deletion

Temporary task metadata is kept in Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.local). User-selected local image buffers may be kept in the extension's local IndexedDB store so the popup and side panel can coordinate. These records remain on the device and can be removed from the extension UI where provided, by clearing the extension's site/storage data, or by uninstalling the extension. In-memory buffers and object URLs are released when the relevant task or UI is cleared, subject to normal browser behavior.

6. Permissions

activeTab and scripting are used for user-requested access to the active page; contextMenus provides the right-click actions; sidePanel opens the batch workspace; storage saves local task state and preferences; and downloads saves files requested by the user. The extension does not request access to browsing history, cookies, passwords, email, contacts, or financial accounts.

7. Security

The extension uses local processing and does not transmit user image data to ImgZero. All JavaScript and worker code is bundled inside the extension package with no remote code execution. Any future transmission of user data will use secure transport and will be disclosed before the feature is used.

8. Changes

If the extension's data practices change, this notice and the extension's in-product disclosure will be updated before or when the changed practice is introduced, as required by applicable Chrome Web Store policies.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use Statement

The use of data handled by ImgZero Quick Image Toolkit is limited to providing and improving the extension's disclosed single purpose: local image inspection, conversion, compression, metadata handling, and user-requested batch processing. The data is not sold, used for personalized advertising, used for credit or lending decisions, or made available for human review. No data is transferred to a third party except where a user-selected original image host serves the requested image to the browser.
